Roll ‘em

jumpy, grainy, clicking
super-eight memories
of black and white
flicker in my mind’s eye

little match for today’s
digitalized disc digressions

Emotionally, it’s a whole
different platform,
antiquated as it might be,
alien to one who was
never there, can’t grasp
the lack of visual clarity

even though everything
is more transparent in
vivid black-and-white – not
clunky, unwieldy, passe’

Still, flickering, clicking,
jumpy, moving pictures
work better for me

Maybe it’s the satisfaction
of having to thread the film
instead of just pushing

There was something special about the old films…of course the film would break at the most inopportune times.:-)
