Most monochromatically not

I’ve never seen the world
in black and white

even as a child, vivid
shades of gray were crystal
clear, and I have always seen
life for what it is; unnamed,
unruly tints and hues both
opaque and austere

To see things purely in
black-and-white takes a
special color blindness
that I did not inherit

Look in a box of sixty-four
Crayolas for the cylinder
labeled ‘Ambiguous’

It is neither a shade of black
nor a hue of white
and gray is simply gray.

Nothing more.

Life is what it is; ‘us’ not ‘they’

Enjoyed the sentiment in these lines…never could see those black and white images very well either.
